knitted stories has become a project devoted to the people and places that connect us, and the stories we continue. As the vast knitted project we have created with amazing women from different corners of country, it has become a work of detail and awareness, in the landscape of  the past and the present, the visible and invisible, imagination, nostalgia and reality.

Set across different locations in public parks, knitted stories unfolds as a walking performance in which the audience is guided through dance and vocal scenes towards a larger gathering within the knitted installation, gradually becoming part of the work. knitted stories is performed by dance artists Šárka Benedová and Ingvild Thingnes in collaboration with vocalist and composer Anna Klungre and ~10 singers from the 55+ choir Korallene.

knitted stories has so far been shown as work in progress in Vevringutstillinga (2023) and TOU (2025). The project has been supported by Stavanger Kommune, Rogaland Fylkeskommune, TOU, RAS, Vevringutstillinga and Kulturrådet (pre-project).

knitted stories is co-produced by RAS - Regional Arena for Samtidsdan, and will ​premiere at Emmausbukta in Stavanger November 7th 2026, followed by a performance at Sandvedparken in Sandnes November 11th 2026.
